Our prayer at Glen Mar is that every child will grow to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and continue to live out their faith long after they graduate from high school. Intergenerational relationships are key to helping our children develop a long-lasting faith. Kids are more likely to feel like a significant part of the church when adults and older youth in the congregation get to know them. As children grow, these adults and older youth become people who will teach them about God's unconditional love and acceptance, as well as people that they can go to with their big questions about faith.
There are many opportunities to be a part of Glen Mar's ministries to families with children:
Opportunities on Sunday Mornings
Sunday School Teacher
Teachers are needed at 9:30 a.m. for preschool through elementary ages, and at 11:00 a.m. for preschool and kindergarten. Time commitment is approximately 2 hours a week, two or three Sundays each month.
Sunday Morning Helper/Assistant
Assistants are needed at 9:30 or at 11:00 a.m. Once a month commitment. Assist the lead teacher with prep, set up, passing out materials, or helping a child. Total time commitment 1 1/2 hours per month.
Kids' Worship Leader
Adults and older youth are needed to help lead the weekly children’s worship experience during the 11:00 a.m. Sunday School hour. This is a flexible commitment.
Sunday Morning Greeter
Greet families at the opening of the Kids' Wing (elementary) or the ELC wing (preschool/k). Pass out fliers, registration cards, direct kids to drop off. Time commitment is 9:15-9:35 a.m. or 10:50-11:10 a.m., 1 or 2 times a month.
Hospitality on Lower Level
We offer hospitality downstairs in "the well" (down the stairs and turn left) for families from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This job involves setting up and/or cleaning up. The time frame is flexible; however set up needs to be complete by 10:30 a.m. (it can be set up before the 9:30 a.m. service if that works for you).
Kids' Worship Bags
Kids' Worship Bags are located at the rear of the Spirit Center and offer a variety of activities and faith-themed coloring pages for young children to complete during worship. Adults or older youth are needed to organize and restock the bags on a periodic basis. Schedule is flexible.
Prepare Sunday School Rooms
Come in on Wednesday mornings to fill, sort, stack and prep Sunday School rooms.

Vacation Bible School
