You've Got Mail (College Care Package Ministry) Organizational Meeting: Mon., Sep. 25, 7 p.m.
Come learn about this ministry that sends packages to college students four times throughout the school year and meet other parents of college students.

Package Assembly Meeting: Mon., Oct. 23, 7 p.m. You're welcome to join us, even if you can't make the Organizational Meeting.

If your college student is living at home, please include them as well. We need volunteers! If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please drop us an email. We would like candy/snack donations to put in the packages and help assembling the goodie bags on the 23rd.

People Acting Together in Howard (PATH) Meeting with School Superintendent: Sep. 26

Donate Jewelry and Scarves for Fundraiser from Sep. 24 - Oct. 30
Second Annual Jewels for Hope sale will take place on Sat., Nov. 11. Help make it a success by donating gently-worn jewelry and scarves from Sep. 24 - Oct. 30. Monetary donations are also appreciated. Learn more.

Note: These dates replace the October 7/8 dates. Glen Mar believes that everyone needs a bible, and we begin that practice in the third grade. All third graders plus any 4th & 5th graders who have not yet received a “New Adventure Bible” are invited to participate in this milestone event.

Cub Scout God and Me and God and Family Classes: Begin Oct. 1
Cub Scout God and Me classes for cub scouts in first - third grades and God and Family classes for Cub Scouts in fourth and fifth grades are offered this fall at Glen Mar. Teachers include Scott Maynard, Jake Maynard and Tammy Hampshire. Classes will help your Scout understand his faith while putting it into action. Habitat for Humanity: Sat. Oct. 14
Come build dreams with us! Second Saturdays of every month. Meet at Glen Mar in the morning to carpool. Times vary, and will be announced right before the workday. Confirmation Class for 8th Grade Youth has begun at 9:30 a.m. Service
Youth in 8th grade, along with older youth who have not yet been confirmed, are invited to take part in this year’s Confirmation Class. The class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and runs from September to May. In addition to learning all about being a Christian and a United Methodist, youth experience different ways to serve, grow, and worship Christian community. Sunday School Programs have begun at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Services
9:30 a.m. programs include Sprouts for children in kindergarten and younger, Pathfinders for kids in 1st through 5th grade, Bible in a Nutshell for 6th and 7th grade youth, Confirmation Class for 8th grade youth (starts Sept. 17 ), and Rooted for high school youth. At 11 a.m. children up through kindergarten can take part in Sprouts, while kids in 1st through 5th grade start in the Spirit Center with their families, then head downstairs for Kids’ Worship. Grassroots 'Immediate Needs' collected all year long
The Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center's Family Shelter and the Rt. 1 Day Resource Center (DRC) are always in need of essential items such as toiletries, nonperishable food, or new or slightly-used clothing and blankets. Look for the blue shopping lists with specific seasonal needs that are updated and available in The Gathering Place kiosk, Welcome Center, and near the collection bin on the lower level, or download the list here.
Grassroots Meals Ministry Needs Additional Volunteers
For many years, Glen Mar servants have provided meatloaves and milk for 40 residents the 4th Tuesday monthly. The number has now grown to 50 - 60 and additional help is needed. Gift Card Sales continue to return about 5% of Sales
Proceeds go to the Mission Ministry Support Fund and many other ministries. Families have also earned over $50,000 in family accounts to helpoffset their mission trip costs. Thank you to all the families that have helped total gift card sales surpass $4 million.
