FREE Mental Health First Aid Training: Fri., Dec. 1, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Must Pre-register
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack — even if you have no clinical training — Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health related crisis. In this eight-hour course, you will learn how to apply a five-step action plan to situations such as helping someone through a panic attack, engaging with someone who may be suicidal or assisting an individual who has overdosed. This is the adult version of the training. Free to people who live or work in Howard County; $69 for others. It is a great training to anyone who volunteers for the Cold Weather Shelter or Day Resource Center programs.

Located at the Horizon Foundation, 10221 Wincopin Circle, Suite 202, Columbia, Maryland. Register here.
