This ministry serves the homeless along the Rt. 1 corridor, providing showers, laundry, clothing, internet access, phone, mailing address, basic living supplies, conversation and referrals to social services. It is open Mondays 2 - 6 p.m., Wednesdays 2 - 6 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
A team of Glen Mar volunteers provides the lunch meal on the 4th Saturday of each month for approximately 70 people. 8-10 volunteers are needed to prepare one or more dishes, half of whom will stay to serve lunch on site or do other jobs (e.g., greeter, shower/laundry monitor, pantry). We especially need drivers!
Minimum Volunteer Age: 18. Youth interested in helping out could help parents prepare and deliver food, or pick up, wash at home, and deliver towels when the Center is open (contact the Day Resource Center to confirm if they need help with washing towels).
