Glen Mar has two ministries focused on bringing about systemic change by educating, connecting, and supporting action and advocacy on social justice issues, as guided by the Social Principles & Social Creed of the United Methodist Church.
PATH (People Acting Together in Howard) is a local advocacy group focused on initiatives in Howard County, Maryland. PATH assists local churches in action, advocacy, and training of people to solve problems in their own communities and to renew the interest of citizens in public life. There are 15 congregations that are currently members of PATH. Glen Mar has been involved in PATH for five years. Learn more.
The Social Justice Ministry at Glen Mar is currently inactive, but is seeking individuals who are interested in restarting this ministry. Previous activities focused on raising awareness through monthly educational programs which addressed various social justice issues and featured a speaker or speakers with expertise on the given subject.
