Glen Mar’s music ministry offers a vibrant children’s music program that runs from September through mid-May, with enrollment open year-round. Rehearsals occur weekly, and steady participation is key to their growth and learning.
Volunteer directors teach children about worship and music by utilizing motions, rhythm instruments, chimes, boom whackers, mini bells and singing. Children are encouraged to share joys and concerns with each other, and they pray together each week. The children’s choirs lead in worship every 5-6 weeks at the Sunday 9:30 service and occasionally at the Sat. 5:00 p.m. and Sun. 11:00 a.m. services. The children’s choirs often participate in outreach events in the church and local community.

Glen Mar’s youth ensembles are open to youth from 6th grade through high school. They provide leadership at the 8:00 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. services every 5-6 weeks. The youth vocal ensemble, Voices of Praise, joins adult choirs for festival services several times a year. Youth interested in the Handbell Choir or playing another instrument in worship should have prior musical instruction. And high school-aged youth who are interested in contemporary music are encouraged to contact Dan Eschliman, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Voices of Praise and Youth Handbells meet weekly and consistent participation is expected. These two groups actively participate in mission outreach events both at Glen Mar and in the community.
