To my new friends in Christ at Glen Mar,

Thank you for your warm and gracious welcome to Dick and me. I am so happy to be serving among you and eager to see how God will work in the days ahead. I’m a graduate of Western Maryland College, (music education and vocal performance), Drew University Theological School (M. Div.) and Wesley Theological Seminary (D.Min.). I’m a first career clergy person and have served numerous churches in the Baltimore Washington Conference of the UMC. I love being a pastor, so I am happy to be a “retirement failure” and to serve this awesome church.

I’ve logged a lot of time at church camp (mostly Manidokan), have spent many weeks on mission teams, worked with Quality of Life Retreats for people with HIV/AIDS, am joyfully connected with the community of interfaith leaders in the area working on Courageous Conversations and the like, and am always eager to meet new people and learn of the amazing ways that people do God’s good work in the world.

Dick and I recently celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary, and we share our home with Glory and Mercy, two adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

Please reach out if you need to talk something through. My role here is congregational care, and that includes care for you! I would be glad to share a meal or a beverage and get to know you. Drop me an email if you’d like to do that (ga****************@gl********.org).

It is my joy and privilege to be a part of the ministry of Glen Mar Church, and the icing on the cake is the opportunity to partner with a most excellent colleague, Pastor Mandy Sayers.
