Baltimore, MD: July 22-26, 2019

Our "Mission Camp" featured daily service projects at various non-profit organizations including Manna House Soup Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity Restore, Civic Works Real Food Farm, Helping Up Mission, Our Daily Bread, Paul's Place, and Little Flowers Early Childhood and Development Center. Participants met at Glen Mar each morning at 8 a.m. and then went into Baltimore to serve. At the end of each day, we met back at Glen Mar for an evening meal and fellowship together. Participants were free to leave the church at 6:30 p.m.

During our 2019 trip, a group of 49 youth and adults served our neighbors in Baltimore. Here are some of their thoughts on this experience:

My God Moment today was when a man stood up at Our Daily Bread and expressed his gratitude to all the volunteers. He said, “This is what Heaven looks like.” That sentence really touched me.

My God moment was when we gave a bag lunch to a man on the street. He seemed shocked, but grateful. The mission trips helped me to reconsider my opinions on homeless people.
