Holy Week and Easter 2023

Worship

Please join us for Holy Week & Easter!

Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023

Services will be in person at Glen Mar Church and live streamed at 9:30 am and in person only at 11:00 am. Palm Sunday marks the ending of Lent, and is the first day of Holy Week, commemorating Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Palms will be distributed to the congregation.

Holy Week Prayer Gallery, April 2-7

Glen Mar is offering the Holy Week Prayer Gallery in the Chapel during Holy Week.

The Prayer Gallery will be open:

  • April 2, Palm Sunday, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • April 3 – 7 (Monday through Friday), 7:00 am – 9:00 pm

Stop by any time between those hours for some personal prayer time.

The Prayer Gallery includes artwork created by Glen Mar artists in past years inspired by different Passion scripture passages. Scripture and prayer prompts are also provided. These artistic expressions will invite you to meditate and pray before the life and death of Jesus.

If you aren’t able to attend in person, you’re invited to pray and meditate with last year’s Prayer Walk booklet.

Maundy Thursday, April 6 at 7:30 pm

Our Maundy Thursday (the Last Supper) service will be held at 7:30 pm. Maundy Thursday is observed as a commemoration of the Last Supper. We will meet in person at Glen Mar Church in the Spirit Center and the service will be live streamed.

Good Friday, April 7 at 7:30 pm

This year’s Good Friday service will feature Theodore Dubois’ cantata, The Seven Last Words of Christ. A 50-member choir, three soloists, and a chamber orchestra will present this cantata. The service will include dramatic scripture readings and prayers. This service will be in person at Glen Mar Church in the Spirit Center and live streamed.

Easter Sunday, April 9
