Position Posting: Full Time Facilities Service Worker

Glen Mar United Methodist Church is currently seeking an energetic Facilities Service Worker, to assist in all types of services, from light maintenance to custodial work. The Service Worker will report to the Facilities Manager.

The Facilities Service Worker will perform varying types of tasks including the set up and cleanup of events in an active Church (including but not limited to moving tables and chairs, and any special requests). As part of a small team of Facilities staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for a clean and neat facility, both inside and out. Daily, he/she will empty trash receptacles, ensure all soap, paper towels and toilet paper dispensers are full and functional. The Facilities Team is also responsible for some cleaning which may include, but is not limited to floors, walls, sinks, toilets, windows, mirrors, tables, picking up of trash, vacuuming and mopping. Some lite Maintenance is required as well, including the changing of light bulbs, painting, setting up and taking down of seasonal equipment.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the safe use of cleaning products as well as ladders and power tools. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods of time, sit for extended periods of time, bend, squat, go up and down steps and lift at least 40 pounds.

This is a full time, essential, non-exempt hourly position (35-40 hrs. per week). Our facilities are open between the hours of 6:30 AM & 9:30 PM Monday – Friday as well as weekend hours. This position includes one weekend shift.
