You are invited to the “Journey to Bethlehem” – a FREE outdoor theatrical adventure for the whole family. Thursday, November 30 will be a driving experience and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be a walking experience. You will see live animals, Roman soldiers, shepherds, angels, and a variety of scenes from a biblical marketplace.
Registration to attend the event is required.
* A daytime sensory-friendly walk will be offered on December 2. The walk is held before dark with no wait time and is led in small groups. Written scripts can be provided. A special education professional is available to talk about your needs. To have a conversation and reserve your spot, contact Lynne in advance. This is an optional walk, but all are welcome to join any night of the production with a reservation.

Glen Mar’s 2023 Journey to Bethlehem will be held Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 30, December 1, 2, & 3 from 5 to 8 pm outside at the church, 4701 New Cut Road in Ellicott City, MD 21043.
Why should I come to Glen Mar’s Journey to Bethlehem?
Come to see and hear the wondrous story of the birth of Jesus Christ. Journey to Bethlehem provides the community a free spiritual and joyous experience at Christmastime. It is also inspiring, educational and entertaining.
What will I see if I attend Journey to Bethlehem?
You will walk or drive (depending on the night) through several outdoor scenes where actors (dressed as Mary, Joseph, the three wise men, Roman soldiers, shepherds, and angels) will enact the events leading up to and immediately following Jesus’ birth. Live animals add to the rustic setting.
Is Journey to Bethlehem ever canceled due to inclement weather?
Journey to Bethlehem is held in all types of weather, including rain, snow and extreme cold, but it could be canceled in the event of a major snowstorm. If the event is canceled, an announcement will be posted on Glen Mar’s website and Facebook page.
