Mission Moment

Dear Glen Mar friends,

I wanted to lift up and celebrate our amazing Missions Ministries today. Glen Mar was one of the honorees at the Community Action Council's recent Holland Awards Dinner for their service to the local community in this pandemic time. Our Church was voted Faith Partner of the Year in April by Habitat for Humanity. And just this past Friday, we hosted a Pantry on the Go where we distributed 199 boxes of food and ~200 bags of potatoes in one hour and five minutes. The Health Department administered 246 flu shots. Next Friday, November 6, 2020 from 2:30 to 4:30 PM in the church parking lot, we'll have another one! There are countless other ways our church is serving the world, but I just wanted to lift up those recent examples. Thank you to all who helped make it happen!

I'm so grateful for the way our church is the body of Christ for our neighbors. And one person could never do this... but together... well... "All things are possible."

This weekend, we'll have our last outdoor Saturday Night Live Vespers service. Come on out. I'm preaching on the fruit of the spirit called "Self Control." Starting Saturday 11/6, at 5 pm, we'll move inside where we can be safe, warm and socially distanced. The music is great, and the vibe is casual. If you are missing a more casual, contemporary vibe, check us out. Register here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090b4caaac2aa31-saturday

And then on Sunday, we'll remember our saints and give thanks for people we love who have gone on to be with God. We'll light candles in person or you can light a candle at home, and have virtual communion together. Reserve your spot for Sunday here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D49AFAF2AA0F9C52-sunday

And... here is the 4th and final week of Mission Possible devotions - https://pdfs.glenmarumc.org/MissionPossibleDevotionsWeek4.pdf.

I'm so proud to be your pastor!

See you in Church and/or online,
Pastor Mandy
