This weekend, over 13,000 Howard County households, including 7,000 children, are expected to lose SNAP benefits.
Food Assistance:
- Extending shopping hours: The Howard County Food Bank will stay open late on Thursdays beginning November 6, 2025, until 6:30 PM.
- Regular shopping hours are as follows:
- Tuesday 1 PM – 4 PM walk-ins
- Wednesday 1 PM – 7 PM walk-ins
- Thursday 1 PM – 4 PM walk-ins
- Saturday 9 AM – 1 PM appointment only
- Federal Employees: These employees without income may visit the Howard County Food Bank twice per month during the government shutdown. Proof of Howard County residency and a valid federal employee photo identification are required.
- SNAP Cardholders: SNAP EBT recipients may also visit the Howard County Food Bank twice per month. SNAP cardholders must present their SNAP EBT card and proof of residence at each visit. CAC will offer temporary categorical eligibility for existing SNAP recipients while SNAP is suspended.
Constituents Looking FOR HELP: CAC’s Howard County Food Bank will provide pre-bagged shelf staples to federal employees and SNAP cardholders living in Howard County who need food assistance.
