Join us this Advent to Rediscover the Significance of Christmas

Have you ever wondered why God would come to us in the person of Jesus? Or, perhaps what the Incarnation is? Or, how are we meant to respond to Jesus’ coming to us today?

Beginning the week of November 29th, 2020 and continuing for the 4 weeks of Advent, Glen Mar will engage a church-wide study to explore these questions and others. Using the book Incarnation: Rediscovering the Significance of Christmas, by Adam Hamilton, we will examine various names of Christ used by the gospel writers, and explore the historical and personal significance of his birth.

There are several ways that you can participate. Begin by joining us for worship, where weekly sermons will explore these themes. You are also invited to join an Incarnation book study group that will meet via Zoom on a weekly basis over the four-week period.

Ways to Join Us for Worship

Worship online with us at 10 a.m. on Sundays, or sign up for our in-person Worship Service with Limited Attendance.

The size of the group may vary, but the likely size will be less than 15 people. An experienced facilitator will be part of the group to guide the discussions.
Are we required to do homework? If so, how much?
The only homework that is required is to read the assigned chapter in the book, Incarnation, so you will be ready for the weekly discussions/video.
Am I going to have to talk or can I just sit and listen during meetings?
Participation and sharing one’s thoughts are encouraged, but not required.
What is the cost of the Study material?

The groups for the church-wide study will be established for the 4-week study period only. However, at the conclusion, your group can decide to continue to meet if desired. The church can also assist you in connecting to another ongoing group if you would like to continue in a different group.
Where can I buy the book?
The book is available at the major Christian bookseller on-line sites. Please ensure that the delivery schedule provided by the seller that you use will allow you to receive your book in time for the first session. Amazon appears to have a reasonable shipping schedule for the book.
