Sermon Series – The Desert Mothers and Fathers
Sundays, February 15 – March 29
This Lent, we’re entering a forty-day journey into the wilderness with Christ, shaped by Scripture and the wisdom of the Desert Fathers and Mothers. Living at a time when the Church was becoming comfortable and powerful, they feared faith was drifting away from Jesus, so they chose silence, simplicity, and a deeper life with God in the desert. Their witness speaks clearly to our own loud and distracted world. As Jesus went into the wilderness after his baptism, we too are invited this Lent to slow down, deepen our prayer, and allow God to do some real forming work in us, guided by these early Christian voices whose wisdom still matters today.
