Pancake Supper
Tuesday, March 4, 2025
Join us for a long-time Glen Mar tradition on Tuesday, March 4 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
Prepare for the start of Lent by eating pancakes with your Glen Mar family. The tradition of having pancakes the night before Ash Wednesday (1st day of Lent) started many, MANY years ago. Families often gave up some type of food for Lent like: fish, milk, sugar, or eggs. In an effort not to waste food (no one had refrigerators at that time) they had a big feast and made pancakes with the extra food. Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday.”
The menu includes pancakes, sausage, applesauce and beverages. The cost is a free-will offering per person, and all proceeds from the meal will be used to help with international missions that Glen Mar supports. We will be sending funds to Institute of Grace in Haiti and Steps of Hope in Guatemala.
Please register in advance so we can prepare enough food.
