Pancake Supper
Tuesday, February 13, 2024
Join us for a long-time Glen Mar tradition on Tuesday, February 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm!
Prepare for the start of Lent by eating pancakes with your Glen Mar family. The tradition of having pancakes the night before Ash Wednesday (1st day of Lent) started many, MANY years ago. Families often gave up some type of food for Lent like: fish, milk, sugar, or eggs. In an effort not to waste food (no one had refrigerators at that time) they had a big feast and made pancakes with the extra food. Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday.”
The cost for Glen Mar’s Pancake Supper is a free will donation supporting Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Home of Our Own Howard. Please sign up in advance so we can prepare enough food.
Let us know you’re coming.
