Dear Glen Mar friend,
2023 has started off on a Spirit-filled note, with our amazing Martin Luther King Day of Service, and our worship series “Let the Son-Shine In!” With a nod to the winter weather, this series is designed to help us with our “Spiritual Affective Disorder” by letting the light of Christ shine in our hearts and out into the world through acts of love, mercy, justice and service. I hope you’ll join us for this series, our Lenten series called “Good Enough,” and our Easter services as well, where we will again hear the story of a stone rolled away, and learn what difference Easter makes in our lives today. Join us for worship! You’ll find it a blessing!
Signs of new life are all around us as days slowly lengthen, and as March and April come, winter branches form buds and flowers. God is always doing some new thing, in our hearts, in the world, in our church. Like seeds waiting for spring to come, the Spirit works in us, Easter and resurrection life await.
Perhaps those pandemic years felt pretty winter-y, but my Jesus tells me that time is on the side of new life, of Easter. Time is on the side of new growth and spring. How can Glen Mar help YOU grow as a disciple of Jesus this spring? Let’s get together and get to know one another. It’s time to reconnect with God and with one another. It’s time for the snow to melt. It’s time to grow—grow in connection, grow in community, grow as disciples, grow in service, grow in numbers.
If Glen Mar has been a blessing to you, won’t you invite a friend to join you for worship or one of the many events and gatherings Glen Mar has? If worship blesses you, invite a friend to worship too. If the choir or praise band blesses you, invite a musical person you know to join you. If you love your small group or Bible study, bring a friend. If you love our Vacation Bible School or have been on a mission trip that blessed you, bring a friend. Together, we can grow as disciples and grow into the people God is calling each of us to be!
I’m so grateful to be your pastor, and I’m excited to see what God will do!
See you in Church,
Pastor Mandy
