Greetings Friends!

Things are picking up at Glen Mar Church, and everything kicks off this coming Sunday! In previous ponderings, I have written about getting involved in children and youth ministry, but now I invite you to consider participating in praising God through our music programs. Praising God and making a joyful noise are mandatory for worshipping God! Remember Psalm 150, where the Psalmist declares:

1 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
    Praise him in his mighty firmament![a]

2 Praise him for his mighty deeds;
    Praise him according to his surpassing greatness!

3 Praise him with trumpet sound;
    praise him with lute and harp!

4 Praise him with tambourine and dance;
    praise him with strings and pipe!

5 Praise him with clanging cymbals;
    praise him with loud clashing cymbals!

6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

Did you catch all the ways that you can praise the Lord? With the trumpet, the lute, and the harp! With tambourines, dance, strings, and pipes! With clanging and clashing cymbals! And of course, don’t forget, with the voice!

We have a host of ways at Glen Mar for you to offer up your musical talent as praise to the Lord. We have vocal and handbell choirs for all ages, a men’s choir, children’s music, contemporary worship teams, and seasonal cantatas. In fact, rehearsals for our Christmas Cantata will begin on the last Thursday of this month, September 25th. All of the music ministries can be found on our website. We are ALL called to worship and praise the Lord, but if that is your special calling, or simply the desire of your heart, there’s a group for you to join at Glen Mar to fulfill that desire and calling. We hope you will.
