Would you like to make someone’s wish come true this Christmas?
Glen Mar’s Wish Upon a Star ministry will assist about 30 local families and others with clothes, food, toys, and gift cards. Starting Sunday, November 1, you can participate in three ways:
1. Go to the Wish Upon a Star gift and donation tables in the Gathering Place before or after worship services and choose a gift (or gifts) to purchase; and/or give a monetary donation that will go to purchase gift cards and food baskets.
2. Go online to sign up through SignUpGenius to purchase Toys/Clothings/Other Gift Requests.
3. Donate online (with a credit card) using the Give button on the Glen Mar website. Please use the dropdown option to designate the donation for “Wish Upon a Star.”
Please sign up for gifts through November 22 and bring all gifts to Glen Mar by noon on November 29. Monetary donations can be made in the Gathering Place through November 29.
Wish Upon a Star helps grant wishes through the following organizations:
- Salvation Army of Howard County
- Ames Church in Baltimore
- HopeWorks of Howard County
- Everstand (the UMC Board of Child Care)
- Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center homeless shelter
- Steps of Hope in Guatemala
Given Glen Mar’s generous support for Wish Upon a Star in the past, we look forward to making even more wishes come true this year. If you have questions or would like to be more involved with Wish Upon a Star, please email us.
