SPOTLIGHT MINISTRIES:
- Wish Upon A Star – Glen Mar’s Wish Upon a Star ministry intends to assist about 30 families over Christmas with clothes, food, toys, and gift cards while also providing support for teenagers at Everstand (formerly Board of Child Care), homeless families at Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, and families in Guatemala through Steps of Hope. Stop by the table in the Gathering Place to find out how you can make someone’s wish come true!
- Disciples Grow Together – As disciples, we need connection with one another! Realm-Connect lists groups and service opportunities! If you need help getting plugged in to the body of Christ here at Glen Mar, stop by the table in the Gathering Place or contact the Pastors’ Assistant for help!
- Why Serve in Children’s Ministry? Serving with kids provides both personal and spiritual growth! Kids are silly, ask lots of questions and love unconditionally. They look to us to learn from and when we serve, we are modeling what it means to be a disciple. You don’t have to have all the answers, just a willingness to grow and learn alongside them! Sign up to serve in the nursery or to help in the classroom on Sunday mornings. Contact Julie Metakes to get started!
ACT NOW:
- Beginning Sunday, November 2 – the lower level of the building will be locked on Sunday mornings. If you have a key card to the building, please park in the lower level to enable those who do not have a key card to park upstairs and enter through the main entrances!
- Shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child are available in the Gathering Place. Last day. Filled boxes must be returned November 9 or 16. $10 is requested for each box to help pay for distribution. See table or contact Eileen Sturgill if you have any questions.
- Thanksgiving Food Drive – November 9-23. Glen Mar will be collecting Thanksgiving food items to support our partners Ames United Methodist Church in Baltimore, and needy families in Howard County. Please pick up a bag with a list of needed food items from the table in the gathering place, and thank you for your efforts to help local families enjoy Thanksgiving.
- Please mark your calendars for Sunday, November 16 where we will celebrate the paying off of one of our two mortgages! We will have one service all together at 10:00 am! This is a milestone in the life of Glen Mar Church, and we want you to be here to remember, to give thanks, and to look forward to the continued future God has in store for us!
- Calling all men! – Men’s Choir, also known as Men in Black, will sing on Sunday, November 23 at the 9:30 am service. There will be a rehearsal on Wednesday, November 19 at 7:00 pm in the Music Suite. For more information, please contact Kelvin Ying.
- Join the Praise Service Tech Team – Be part of the magic that appears on the screen! Support needed for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evening rehearsals. No experience needed. Contact Max Mason.
- Stressful situations are a part of life, but sometimes a crisis takes over. It’s unexpected, high level, all-consuming stress. This week, our Stephen Minister trainees are learning about handline crises, leaning ultimately on God for support. For information

- X-YAG (Ex-Young Adult Group) – Monday, November 3, 7:00 pm. We are a group of Gen X and Y folks. We meet on the first and third Mondays of the month! Join us for bible study, fellowship and dessert! We meet offsite, so contact Jen Sellers for more information!
- Journey to Bethlehem Building Setup – Saturday, November 8, 8:30 am-1:00 pm. Lifting, ladders, trucks and trailers, oh my! We need your help! Sign up.
- Social Justice Group – Tuesday, November 11, 7:00 pm. Passionate about social justice and want to make a difference in the world? This group educates itself on the many social justice issues to be addressed in our community and discern how to effectively engage and take action. All are welcome to attend this group.

YOUTH INFO/EVENTS:
- Youth Orchestra! – All 6th-12th graders welcome! We will perform on a Sunday morning quarterly, and rehearse once all together the Saturday before. Youth Group – TONIGHT! 5:30-7:00 pm. 6th-12th graders won’t want to miss the Gospel According to Lego! Every piece has a purpose, and we all have a role to play! Meet in the Youth Lounge and bring $5 for dinner.

The Great Costume Move – All the Journey to Bethlehem costumes will be brought out of storage next Sunday, November 9, at 10:30 am. We need several adults to help before and after to maximize our youth moving force. Please contact D.C. Veale if you can assist.
