Christmas was extra special in 2025 for many families, thanks to your generous support to the Wish Upon a Star ministry. Through purchasing and distributing gifts and gift cards, Glen Mar celebrated Jesus’ birthday by sharing his love locally with families and individuals in Howard County and Baltimore, and globally to families in Guatemala.
The gift recipients were selected by our partner organizations: Salvation Army, HopeWorks of Howard County, Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, EverStand, and Ames United Methodist Church. This year’s support included:
- 345 gifts and $1,600 in gift cards for 93 children;
- $3,350 in grocery gift cards for 30 families;
- $2,000 in gift cards to Grassroots; and
- $2,000 for food baskets to Steps for Hope families in Guatemala.
In addition to the well over 200 people who donated gifts or money this year, Glen Mar’s youth group also spent an evening session purchasing gifts for the ministry. Glen Mar’s youth learned about the program and its significance, while Wish Upon a Star leveraged the youth’s special insight into buying gifts for teenagers. Both the youth group and Wish Upon a Star benefited from this partnership. Wish Upon a Star also greatly benefited from the continued long-term support of Cub Scout Pack 874 which provided the gifts for 12 of our 93 children.
Glen Mar’s spirit of Christmas giving made a difference in 2025. Thank you for your generosity. You showed Jesus’ love to strangers who needed a special blessing.
