Pastor’s Ponderings – Alleluia, He is Risen!

Pastor's Ponderings

Dear Glen Mar friends,

Alleluia! Christ is Risen! I’m so full of gratitude for our amazing Holy Week! We had 832 people join us in person on Easter Sunday, and the music and worship was so powerful, and such a blessing! I’m so grateful for all of it, and for each and every one of you!

This Sunday, I might be able to announce the name of the NC church that I’ll be serving starting July 1, and I’ll be preaching on Jesus’ post-Easter appearance to the disciples, where he is known by the wounds he carries. What does it matter that we have a savior that is recognized by his wounds? How can we, also wounded at times, be Easter People in a Good Friday world? Please come to worship—you’ll be so glad you did!

Looking ahead, starting May 4, my last sermon series will start. It’s called “Light the Way”—a series about how Jesus’ light shines in our hearts and how that light shines through us to others. It’s also our annual stewardship campaign for our Mission and Ministry (Operating) Fund. This fund pays for everything but the mortgage and everything in it comes from your giving. I’ll also be sharing some “Lessons Glen Mar has Taught Me” and things that I celebrate from the past 7 years together over the coming weeks. Your presence, in person or online, would be a great gift to Eric and me as we prepare to move to care for family later in June.

See you in church,

Pastor Mandy
