Have you checked out the latest bulletin, seen Glen Mar on Facebook, or noticed updates to the website? You have? Excellent! That’s the goal of the Glen Mar Communications Team – to improve communications within the congregation, among the staff, and with the community. The Communications Team, led by Pastor Melaina and consisting of a mix of volunteers and Glen Mar personnel, strives to:
- Engage with the congregation and community to inspire and invite participation in worship and other Ministries of the church.
- Use Social Media to enable Glen Mar to intentionally build relationships with its congregation and the community in order to promote and communicate upcoming events, ministry news, and encourage them to live out their faith.
- Promote and maintain effective publicity forms, as well as clarify and communicate the appropriate use of those forms and the chain of command to enhance efficiency.
- Utilize multiple modes of communication, including:
- Glen Mar Website
- Sunday Bulletin
- Pastor’s Ponderings
- The Messenger Newsletter
- Facebook and Instagram
Our newest communications initiative is the “Ministry Town Hall.” This quarterly event spotlights various Glen Mar Ministries and features stories about how “Glen Martians” are being the hands of God in our community. The event also encourages audience participation. The next Ministry Town Hall will be on Tuesday, February 28 and will feature the hospitality and worship planning committees.
