Founded and run by one of Glen Mar’s own, Betty Pearson, A Home Of Our Own Howard Inc. (HOOO) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides furniture and household items at no cost in a timely fashion to individuals, veterans, and families in Howard County who are transitioning from homelessness and who have been referred to us. HOOO coordinates activities with Grassroots and Sleep In Heavenly Peace to provide household items and furniture to those in need in our community.

We Need Volunteers!

Please consider helping in the following areas:

• Sorting and recording inventory that is donated.
• Picking up and/or delivering furniture (lifting required). HOOO has its own moving truck, but needs physically fit individuals to help move furniture. Deliveries and pick-up days & times vary each week based on volunteer availability, number of clients, or donations.
• Packing and preparing items for client wish lists.
• Other/administrative tasks ranging from record keeping, client coordination to fundraising and grant writing.
