Dear Glen Mar friends,
As Mother’s Day approaches, we give thanks for the gift of God’s love shared through mothers or people who have been like mothers to us. We also give thanks this Sunday for our 2024 Graduates too. On one level, it doesn’t seem to take much to be able to “grow up.” Time waits for no one, and getting older happens, whether we like it or not. But as followers of Jesus, we are not just called to grow older, we are called to grow up” in faith, love and wisdom, to grow in knowledge of and love of our Lord, and to grow in generosity and giving. As we grow, our support of the church grows too – we give proportionally of what God has given us, to build up the church, to help it grow.
Who has helped you grow in the faith? Who did you look up to when you were just starting out on your faith journey? How is God calling YOU to grow in your commitment to the church, so that you can help others come to know Jesus as you do? Perhaps God is nudging you to get involved or “re-involved” in the life of faith at Glen Mar church. We need your support, so that God’s family can get bigger and grow closer to God and one another. You may not be a biological parent, but YOU are a spiritual parent to those who are newer in the faith. We never graduate from faith, but we should be growing in our learning and giving…how is God calling you to “be promoted” to the next level in your journey with the Lord?
We’ve been through seasons of spiritual infancy and childhood…and when it comes to the Kingdom, God has a big family in mind. Now, it’s Growing Season. And with your support in this campaign, we can reach more people, and change more lives, and help God’s garden grow. The harvest is plentiful, with laborers like you!
Oh and please scroll down for an important “did you know” fact about the difference your giving makes!
See you in Church,
Pastor Mandy
PS More to come soon about the UMC’s recent General Conference! They considered 1500 pieces of legislation so I need a little time to put a summary together! #roomtogrow
