This Sunday is All Saint’s Day, where we will share in Holy Communion and honor all the saints in our lives. It’s also Second Mile Giving Sunday, where we’ll have the chance to give a little extra to benefit our Capital Fund. Come pray, sing, worship, and light candles at this meaningful service!
We’ve been talking about “gospel hospitality” and how God invites all to God’s Table. Here are some great ways to show God’s Welcome to the people in our neighborhood and life.
- American Sign Language (ASL) Basic Training on Zoom starting Monday, November 6! Want to learn words, phrases, and/or even a song or two in ASL with Rev. Leo Yates? Join our three-week training session that will meet on three Mondays in November (11/6, 11/13, and 11/20) at 6:00 pm via Zoom. This is a wonderful opportunity to build awareness and learn about the Deaf community and their culture to provide more accessibility and hospitality. This training is an accompaniment to our Come to the Table sermon series. Please mark your calendars and register today!
- Journey to Bethlehem Outdoor Setup (Saturday, November 4, 8:30 am – 1:00 pm) Older youth and able-bodied folk are needed to help set up the outdoor buildings and props this Saturday! Bring tools and gloves if you have them. We’ll have coffee, donuts and enthusiasm at the ready!
- Jewels for Hope Sale (Saturday, November 4 from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm) Thousands of pieces of jewelry and a vast assortment of scarves for sale, priced as low as $5, to benefit HopeWorks, the county domestic violence help center! Come out and shop!
- Free Community Health Fair (Saturday, November 11, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm) Everyone is welcome and walk-ins are accepted. The scheduled health-related services: Flu shots; Hearing & Vision screening (for pre-school & up); Blood pressure & stoke risk assessment; Women, Infants, & Children health info; Domestic Violence prevention info; Mental Health related info; Crisis Intervention info/referrals; Health and Wellness coaching; Living Wellness Chiropractic; & Senior Placement Navigator.
