Greetings Glen Mar,

I hope you had a chance to either attend or watch last Sunday’s combined Celebration worship service. It was amazing to have the 9:30 and 11:00 AM worship services come together as one church and celebrate the milestone of paying off the Education Building mortgage while looking forward to the journey ahead of us. It was great to hear stories about the move from the old building to our current facilities, celebrate the present, and dream of Glen Mar’s future when our other mortgage is paid off. I am so thankful to the Stewardship committee and all of those who helped come up with ideas and plan the service. It was such a joy!

At the end of Sunday’s service, we also teased a video for the “Ghost Pepper Hot Wing Challenge,” and I am pleased to report that the video is now available on our website and YouTube for your viewing pleasure. You get to learn a little bit about me while you watch me sweat! Once again, thank you for pledging toward our 2026 Operating Fund budget. Knowing that 72% of our 2026 budget is already pledged, we can be better positioned to undertake all the ministries to which we are led. Your pledging helps us plan! So, thank you for stepping up and having a little fun with me. Also, I want to thank Mike Kagey, Chad Sellers, Drew Sogn, Pat Lee, and George Dohner for making the “Challenge” video happen. I hope you will check it out!

Finally, as we move toward the Advent season and Christmas, things are truly picking up at Glen Mar! You all know better than I do about the many events, activities, and services that are coming up. To make all of those happen smoothly, we need a fully staffed facilities team to get chairs, tables, and other items in place for each event, and we have an amazing facilities staff that makes all of that happen. However, right now we are one worker short, and we could use your help to find that next right person for the job. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the position, please reach out to Brian Tucker, our Minister for Facilities.
