Dear Glen Mar friends,

As we prepare for another school year, I just wanted to give a big shout out to all in our church who engage in the important, exciting, and challenging ministry of teaching! From our own Sunday morning teachers, and small group facilitators,  and other Bible study teachers to our ELC teachers and helpers, to folks who teach in the schools (or administrate!) – your gifts and your love are so appreciated and needed. We see you. We are grateful.

Join me in this prayer for teachers, everywhere, as they prepare for their holy work:

Dear God, thank you for teachers. Give them wisdom and patience, strength and love. Help them to see each student as you see them, beloved and precious. Grant that they might share the joy that comes from learning about the world you have made with those you are placing in their care. Keep them safe, O Lord, and fill them with the joy, peace and faith that comes from you, O Great Teacher of Us All. Amen.

Join us in worship this week as we look at Jesus’ baptism story from Mark and learn how Jesus changes us from the “inside-out!”
