Dear Glen Mar friends,
What are your plans for Christmas Eve? I hope you’ll join us for meaningful worship at one of our 5 services, where we will sing familiar carols, light candles as we sing Silent Night, and hear again a message of hope and good tidings of great joy for all people! I hope you’ll join us in person, and invite friends and neighbors, especially because we’ll be donating half of our in person offering to prevent homelessness in Howard County, to our partners Grassroots Crisis Center, Habitat for Humanity Chesapeake and Bridges to Housing Stability.
Christmas is a time when God makes God’s home with us, and when we are all called to gather at the manger to be welcomed home to God. On a cold, clear night in Ellicott City, help us to welcome the Christ Child, and bless our unhoused neighbors, so that they too can have a place to call home. The more people who come and give, the more people we can bless!
I’ve done an invitation video on Glen Mar’s facebook page—please share with friends!
Service times are 2:30 and 4:00 PM (family services), 7:00, 9:00, and 11:00 PM (traditional). We’ll also live-stream the 4:00 and 7:00 pm services for those who cannot be there in person.
PS As I write this on the longest night of the year, I wanted to extend a special invitation to people grieving the loss of loved ones, to join our Journey through Grief small group (which will start Jan. 7, at church, from 9:30-11 am). Come find support, sharing, comfort and strategies for navigating through seasons of grief. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
