SPOTLIGHT MINISTRIES:
- VBS – TODAY! 12:15 pm. Help transform the Spirit Center into the Pacific Northwest! The more hands the faster set up will go! This year, we are collecting money for Operation Kid-to-Kid for purchasing cold weather gear! If we hit our fundraising goal of $1500, Julie Metakes will take a Polar Plunge on Friday!
- Exciting Concert – Friday, July 18, 7:00 pm. The Marimba Linda Xelaju will delight audience members and provide folks a strong dose of Guatemalan culture at a concert in the Spirit Center. Concertgoers will get another bonus: seeing family members enjoy performing together (a family literally in concert). This is a free one-hour event.

- Summer Bell Choir – Experienced ringers (adults and youth) are invited to play at the 9:30 am worship service on July 27. Come to just one rehearsal on Monday, July 21, at 7:00 pm. RSVP to Tammy at Covenant Ringers.
- Calling all singers! Sing at the 9:30 am worship service on July 27. Come to just one rehearsal with the No Strings Choir on Thursday, July 24 at 7:00 pm.
- Family Music – August Family Worship is coming soon! Contact Sophie if your family would like to provide music for worship during August.
- The Glen Mar ELC is hiring assistant teachers! Join in making a difference in the lives of young learners! Teaching Assistants are needed from 9:00 am-6:00 pm, and must be at least 16 years of age. Please email your resume to Shelby.
- Good Trouble: Sign up for the Social Justice Mailing List to receive email notifications about local opportunities to stand up against injustice. Learn about protests, letter writing campaigns, vigils, educational gatherings, and more. Email Social Justice to join the list.

- Back To School – The school year is coming to an end, but the new school year will be here before you know it. In preparation, we’re starting to collect backpacks for students served by Glen Mar’s partner church, Ames United Methodist Church in Baltimore, as well as students here in Howard County. The need is always greatest for high school age students. Please be on the lookout for this type of backpack or consider a financial donation if that is more convenient. If you would like to help with this mission, or have questions, please contact Pat Lee.

- Volunteer S’mores and Trail Mix Party – TODAY, 4:00-4:30 pm! VBS Volunteers, join us for some treats before the training where we will put on our metaphorical hiking boots to embark through the great outdoors to make 2025’s True North VBS a great adventure!
- Vacation Bible School – July 7-11, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
- Habitat For Humanity – Next work date is July 12. Do you enjoy doing handy work? Or do you wish you knew how to do handy tasks around your home? We work the second Saturday of every month. Contact Adrienne Taylor to learn more or to sign up at Habitat.
- VBS Sings! – Sunday, July 13, 9:30 am. You won’t want to miss hearing our VBS kids and volunteers leading us in song about their great outdoor adventure learning about how Jesus is our True North!

- Join Relay For Life Celebration – Glen Mar’s Angels for a Cure will participate in Relay For Life of Baltimore and Howard County on Saturday, July 19, 3:00–8:00 pm at Howard Community College’s Athletic and Fitness Center, 5500 Dragon Place, Columbia. Relay is an annual free event to celebrate cancer survivorship, remember those who lost their cancer battle, and raise money for the American Cancer Society. Youth Group – There are no youth activities this week because of VBS. Rising 6th graders are allowed to participate in all summer Fun-tivities on Tuesday nights, and rising 9th grade and older can join us for Fun-tivities and Dinner & a Movie nights on Wednesdays. Paint Night!– Tuesday, July 15, 6:30 pm in the Youth Lounge. No need to register! Just wear your favorite Bob Ross wig and clothes that can get messy! We will recreate a scenic mountain summer scene step-by-step with provided canvases, brushes and paints! We ask that you bring a bestie or friend from school with you to share the joy of painting happy little trees!

Dinner & a Movie – Wednesday, July 16, 6:30 pm. All rising 9th graders and older are invited to join us! Look for details in next week’s bulletin!

Adventure Park USA – Saturday, July 19, 11:45 am. All rising 6th grade and older youth are encouraged to join us for a fun outing to Adventure Park USA on Saturday, July 19. We’ll meet at Glen Mar at 11:45 am and return about 6:15 pm. The cost is $45 per youth, and $25 per adult driver. This includes lunch in the park and four hours of rides and other fun activities. Participants must register here by July 16.
MUSIC MINISTRY:
