AMES Food Collection – During the month of September, Glen Mar will be collecting food items from September to support our partners at Ames United Methodist Church in Baltimore, and needy families in Howard County. Please pick up a bag with a list of needed food items from the table in the gathering place, and thank you for your continued efforts to feed local families in need.

October 14-24: There are opportunities to serve in Guatemala as we continue to grow our relationship with Steps of Hope and the people of Santa Maria de` Jesus. Our team plans to focus working with the children and assisting with earthquake recovery.

October 5-11: We also plan to send a team back to Windsor, NC to work with Carolina Rebuilding Ministry. The focus will be on finalizing our previous bed build and home repairs. Please register for the NC trip here.

Mark your calendars for the ninth annual Jewels for Hope – November 1 from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Donate your gently worn jewelry and scarves beginning September 9 through October 19. Drop-off containers are located in the Glen Mar Gathering Place, at Hope Works, and at the Columbia Yoga Center. If you have any questions, please contact Hope Works.

Lunch Bunch – Tuesday, September 16, 11:30 am in the Lower Gathering Place. Lunch Bunch is a group of “seasoned citizens” who meet the third Tuesday of each month from September through June for fellowship, fun, and of course, lunch. This month, bring a sandwich!

You’ll have a chance to ask him all of your questions, like, who IS the best Star Wars character of all time? Bring $5 for dinner.

Middle School Retreat – All 6th-8th grade youth are invited to join us for the best weekend of the Fall. Oct. 17-19 we will be heading to Camp Manidokan to build up your XP to grow deeper in faith while doing fun things in the mountains like Boss Battles, a giant zip line, campfires, and gaga ball.
