Backpacks and School Supplies Needed! – Help students served by Glen Mar’s partner church, Ames United Methodist Church in Baltimore, as well as students here in Howard County. The need is always greatest for high school age students. Please be on the lookout for this type of backpack or consider a financial donation if that is more convenient. School supplies like pencils, crayons, notebooks, etc. are also needed! If you would like to help with this mission, or have questions, please contact Pat Lee.

Enjoy Broadway Through the Ages – Friday, August 8, 7:00 pm. The U.S. Army Field Band will bring New York City to Glen Mar’s Spirit Center when it presents “Broadway Through the Ages.” This concert is free. Singers from the band’s Soldiers’ Chorus, accompanied by members of its Concert Band and Jazz Ambassadors, will perform Broadway hits from different time periods. We Love Collegians! We are restarting our You’ve Got Mail ministry to send care packages to Glen Mar collegians and we need your help. We are asking for the school addresses of all college students, as well as volunteers to help create and mail care packages. We will also accept donations to help pay for items and mailing. Please contact Trisha Boswell to provide addresses, donations or to volunteer.

We are in constant need of welcome center hosts, greeters, ushers, communion servers, worship leaders and especially Coffee Team hosts! Signing up to serve just once a month would be an enormous help! Please contact the Pastor’s Assistant for ways to help out!

Confirmation 2025-26 Information Meeting – Sunday, August 24 at 10:45 am in the Youth Lounge. Any rising 8th grade or older youth who has not yet been confirmed is eligible to be part of the 2025-26 youth confirmation class. There will be an information meeting for all potential youth and their parents. This is the best way to learn all of the dates, requirements and costs for the class.

Game Night! – Tuesday, August 5, 6:30-8:00 pm in the Spirit Center. All rising 6th-12th grade youth are encouraged to join us for some indoor and/or outdoor games.

High School Dinner & a Movie – Wednesday, August 6, 6:30-9:30 pm. Rising 9th grade and older are invited to the home of Amy G. for dinner and the movie “10 Things I Hate About You.” The movie is rated PG-13. Bring $5 for dinner and your permission form.

Pool Party – Saturday, August 9, 4:00-6:00 pm. Rising 6th grade and older youth are invited to Don and Pat Lee’s pool (7055 Calvert Dr in Elkridge) for an afternoon of swimming, fun, and dinner. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. Last names beginning with A-M bring dessert, N-Z bring a side dish. Burgers, hot dogs and beverages provided.
