Charge Conference

Sunday, October 17, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm via Zoom
The charge conference is the basic governing body of the local United Methodist Church. It is the “business meeting” of the church. It connects the local church to the general Church. Charge conferences must be held at least once per year. It is made up of all of the members of the church council and all members have the right to vote. The primary role of the charge conference is to review and assess the mission and ministries of the church. This includes recommending and/or affirming candidates for ordination, evaluating pastor compensation packages, and overall ministries of the church. The district superintendent or designated elder presides at the meeting.

Bridges Chili & Challenge is taking place NOW through Sunday, October 10.
This year’s event will include three delicious chili meals, a thrilling virtual silent auction and the opportunity to donate to the Bridges mission – to prevent and end homelessness in Howard County through affordable housing solutions and advocacy. The congregation that raises the most money (through meal purchases and donations) will win the Golden Ladle!
