Vacation Bible School 2023

Summertime at Glen Mar is always synonymous with Vacation Bible School (VBS) when you work in Children’s Ministry. This year we went on an out of this world adventure at STELLAR VBS. Each day, children in the elementary program rotated through stations where they learned about that day’s Bible Point and also did activities that reinforced it. The key phrase of the week was SHINE JESUS’ LIGHT! I can still hear the children joyfully yelling it during the closing each day.

Children got to dig deep into the Bible story at Bible Explorations. We started the week learning about the birth of Jesus and how his birth changed the world! Other lessons included learning about Zacchaeus, having a parade for Jesus as he entered Jerusalem, and learning how during his crucifixion, he cared for his mother Mary.

We did some cool crafts and experiments at the Imagination Station. We even launched a rocket! Games were a chance to take a break and have some fun. Everyone got a little wet during some of the games!

Our VBS program chose the Family Survivor Network (FSN) this year as our outreach project. FSN requested that we collect backpacks and school supplies for the 40 children who will be attending a camp for the month of August. God provided and then some! We will be delivering over 45 backpacks and enough supplies for the children to also have some materials at home and at FSN!

Fall Kick Off 2023

Sunday School kicks off September 10 with a brand new curriculum! I will be sending more information out towards the beginning of September. I look forward to seeing you then!
