Hello Glen Mar Families!

Reflection is the act of thought or consideration, and people often will do that at the end of year as a way of contemplating changes or to celebrate what went well. As I reflect on 2023, I saw so many ways that God is at work in Children’s Ministry here at Glen Mar! A few highlights that I want to share with you are the Easter Eggstravaganza, Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, and the Christmas Pageant.

Our Easter Eggstravaganza, which is scheduled this year for March 23, returned after being on hold for several years. This event brought families together for a morning of crafts, games, face painting, cupcake decorating, and an egg hunt! We had over 100 people join us last year and hope to share this event with more of our community this year!

VBS planning is in full swing for this year. Last year we went into space but this year, we dive deep into the sea with an underwater SCUBA adventure! VBS will be held July 8-12 with an extended day option. Registration opens March 1!

Trunk or Treat also returned this year with over 125 people in attendance. Over 20 people/groups signed up to decorate trunks and hand out candy to children after they played games, made some crafts, or jumped in the bounce house! Glen Martians generously donated all the candy for this event to help make it successful.

Did you get to watch the Family Christmas Eve pageant? Our children and youth brought the story of the grumpy neighbor who just needed to be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas. This year we went interactive with the audience ringing jingle bells and coloring on their Whoville headbands!

I hope that you will join us this year in Children’s Ministry. We rely on volunteers to teach/assist in Sunday mornings, help at events, run crews at VBS, and so much more. Thank you to all who have served with us and all who will this year!
