On March 2, 2024, Libby Boswell was recognized with a plaque for her outstanding work for and dedication to HopeWorks. Glen Mar has hosted Jewels for Hope the first Saturday in November since 2016. The donations made possible through the Jewels for Hope fundraising event have helped support this Howard County agency and is its largest source of income from a single event.
The plaque reads as follows:
“In loving memory of Olivia “Libby” Boswell, whose founding of Jewels for Hope in 2016 has changed the lives of countless survivors and their families. Libby was devoted to helping others. Her kindness, strength, and generosity inspired friends and strangers alike.
Libby’s legacy is reflected in the iris flower, which symbolizes hope, faith, wisdom, and courage. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to serving her community will always be a beacon of hope and a testament to the impact one person can make in the world.
With appreciation and gratitude to Libby, her family, and the people of Glen Mar Church, this plaque is dedicated on behalf of HopeWorks’ staff, board, and clients.”
We are so proud of Libby. This plaque will be hung at Glen Mar to commemorate this remarkable woman!
