Local Mission Week 2022 was a wonderful opportunity for Glen Mar youth (rising 6th graders and older) and adults to be ambassadors of Christ as they served the needs of those in our own backyard. Glen Mar youth and families built wonderful relationship with local ministries, non-profits, and community organizations for an entire week (July 25th – July 29th). One of the organizations shared with Pastor Mandy, “You should be proud of your Glen Martians. They are willing to get their hands dirty.”
During the week, Glen Mar youth and adults got their hands dirty by building bunk beds at Glen Mar for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, helped at a local children’s shelter, and worked in kitchens at a local organization. Additionally, they rocked NICU babies at a local shelter’s medical unit, read to kindergartners, made twin-sized quilts and sheets for the Sleep in Heavenly Peace bunk beds, and brought prayer shawls to sick babies.
What a wonderful week of service!
