Pastor’s Ponderings – A Valentine for You

Pastor's Ponderings

Dear Glen Mar friends,

Today is Valentine’s Day, so I just wanted to take a moment to send you a little “valentine.” I wanted to say thank you for all the ways that you support Glen Mar through your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness, and the ways you shine the light of Christ every day. It’s a chaotic season in our government and in our world, and so I just wanted to reach out to remind you that a change in administrations in Washington doesn’t change who WE are as a church and a family of faith. We are still here praising God, growing disciples, and serving the world, and helping share Jesus’ mission to love, save, heal, and free. If you are in a season of feeling overwhelmed or feeling in need, we are here for you. Please reach out to a pastor or a Stephen Minister for support or to share how we might be able to come alongside you. And, as I said on Sunday, if the storms of life feel particularly intense right now, your boat was BUILT for rough seas, and Jesus is in the boat with you. Together, we are a fleet of love and care and solidarity with those who are most vulnerable and in need.

A common sentiment on a valentine card used to be “Be Mine.” As Christians, the valentine we care about is the one from God, that says to every heart, “Be Mine.” May it be so….my valentine’s wish is that you would know how much God loves you, and how much God wants to use you to bless the world, and that you would “Be God’s.”

God’s valentine is for you, and for the whole world, and it’s a privilege to be your lead pastor. You are loved, you are seen, you are not alone.

See you in Church,
Pastor Mandy
