MINISTRY SPOTLIGHTS:
- Glen Mar Supports the Grassroots Cold Weather Shelter – March 17-23. Glen Mar will provide breakfast and dinner for the Grassroots Cold Weather Shelter. We need bulk item donations, volunteers to help prepare meals, and cash contributions. For details on how to help or to sign up, visit: CWS.
- Alphabet Soup and Social Justice Group – Feeling discouraged or afraid over current events? You are not alone. Glen Mar’s Alphabet Soup offers a safe space for all people (and all means all), and the Social Justice Group works against systems of oppression. Stop by the table in the Gathering Place today for some encouragement and to learn about upcoming opportunities.

- Food Collection Ministry – For years, Glen Mar has collected food for a variety of worthy organizations that we partner with. In order to respond to God’s calling, we are looking to hold a food collection every other month to support partners in Baltimore and needy Howard County citizens. If you would like to help with this ministry, please contact Dave Eddy.
- BWC Summer Camp – Registration for United Methodist summer camps opens February 5. Sleep-away camps for current 2nd graders and older at West River and Manidokin include swimming, boating, climbing, music, games, and so much more. Learn more at BWC Camps.
- Summer Mission Trips – June 22-28: North Carolina for home repair with Carolina Rebuilding Ministry. Open to all adults and youth currently in 8th grade or older, $300 or less. July 21-25: Baltimore Mission Week, a chance to serve in the Baltimore area while sleeping in your own bed. Open to all adults and youth currently in the 6th grade and older, $125 or less. - Save the Date for VBS 2025 – Plan to join us July 7-11 for a True North adventure, learning to trust God in a wild world. Registration begins March 1!
- Operation Christmas Child 2024 was a success! 103 shoe boxes where received! Many thanks to those who contributed! – Eileen Sturgill and Jean Maase.

- Glen Mar’s Social Justice Group – Tuesday, February 11, 7:00 pm. This group educates itself on the many social justice issues to be addressed in our community and discern how to effectively engage and take action. All are welcome to attend this group.
- Dancing Needles – Thursday, February 13, 1:00 pm. Do you enjoy knitting and crocheting? We need you in our prayer shawl group!
- Vow Renewal – Saturday, February 15, 11:00 am. BWARM, Baltimore-Washington Area Reconciling United Methodists, will hold a vow renewal and blessing for couples who want the church to bless their marriage, commitment or union at North Bethesda UMC. - Alphabet Soup – Tuesday, February 18, 7:00 pm. Looking for a safe space where you can be yourself? Alphabet Soup is a reconciling community, celebrating diversity and inclusiveness, and welcoming and affirming ALL people!
- 30 Hour Famine – February 21 – 22. Glen Mar’s Confirmation Class is going without food for 30 hours to raise awareness and money for world hunger. To support their efforts, make a donation here or at their bake sale on Sunday, February 23 between services.
- Lunch Bunch – Tuesday, February 18 at 11:30 am. Join us “Seasoned Citizens” in the Lower Gathering Place for fellowship, fun, and of course, lunch. This month is potluck! If you have any questions, contact Lunch Bunch.
- Our Next Turn @ Rt. 1 DRC – Saturday, February 22 from 11:45 am to 2:00 pm. One of 50 churches supporting the Grassroots Rt. 1 Day Resource Center (DRC), Glen Mar provides lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month. If you’d like to contribute to the potluck menu, help serve on site, or even view future SignUps, please sign up here. - Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper – Tuesday, March 4, 5:30 -7:00 pm. Prepare for the start of Lent by eating pancakes with your Glen Mar family. The cost is a free-will offering per person, and all proceeds from the meal will be used to help with international missions that Glen Mar supports. Youth Group – All 6th-12th grade youth are invited to join us tonight in the Youth Lounge from 6:00-10:00 pm to watch the best commercials of the year, Kendrick Lamar, and some football game. Main dish and beverages provided. Please bring a snack or side dish to share. Leave whenever you want!

Youth Sunday – Sunday, March 2, 9:30 am and 11:00 am. Youth will lead all aspects of worship. Want to help plan the services or maybe even preach? Contact D.C. Veale today or sign up on the list outside the Youth Office. Volunteer to be a reader, usher, greeter or communion server. Regular youth Sunday morning programs will not meet that day.
