Dear Glen Mar friends,

Our “Fall Kickoff Sunday” was an amazing blessing (even with a little rain). Powerful testimonies about the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit through Bible study and small groups! Uplifting music! Utterly delicious food! And the buzz of laughter and joy at being together! I’m so grateful for everyone who contributed to making the day so special. I’m so excited about all the ways we will praise God, grow disciples (and grow as disciples), and serve the world this fall. And… I hope you’ll join us this Sunday for the start of our Gospel According to Ted Lasso series—where we will look at the power of Belief and how Jesus helps us grow in our faith.

Also, we will be having a free event we’re calling “Lunch with a Lawyer” on Sunday, October 2 from 12:30-2:00 p.m. My friend Jennifer Kidwell is an estate planning and tax attorney and she’s coming to talk about important consideration for planning for the future. What can you do now to make sure your wishes are carried out regarding your health, medical treatment, and assets? Are there some simple ways to legally avoid/minimize taxes and/or probate? A few minutes of planning now will really take the burden off loved ones and ensure your legacy is passed to the people that you love. (She’ll also talk about “what to do when someone you love passes away,” from an attorney’s perspective). I hope you’ll join us, no matter your age, stage or situation. I think you’ll be blessed and helped, and that’s what the church is for. RSVP not required but will help in lunch planning.
