Dear Glen Mar friends,
Jesus calls us to grow disciples and to grow AS disciples throughout our lives, and to bear fruit in the world—fruit like love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness. Fruit like food for the hungry, hope for the hopeless, comfort for people in trouble, and good news for the poor. Our new worship series, starting tomorrow, will examine ways God is calling us to GROW, as individual disciples, and as a church, as part of our annual stewardship campaign. I hope you’ll make attending worship online or in person a priority as we talk about Glen Mar’s future as a greenhouse for good (and for God) in our community.
How can it be that we could grow, in numbers in our church and in depth of faith, in love of God and neighbor? How can it be that we could grow our reach, so that more people hear about Jesus and about the new life Jesus gives? How can we bless even more people, knowing as we do that we are “blessed to be a blessing?”
Well…it all starts with our generous God, who sows richly and reaps richly and provides all things as a GIFT. God is always about making room—room at the table for all to receive the Bread of Life and the Cup of Salvation, room so that “the Father’s house may be filled” (Luke 14:23). Come join us for the Lord’s Supper and a time of worship and giving thanks to this God, who always provides what we need. As Paul writes, “What do you have that you did not receive?” (1 Cor. 4:7).
We’ve been through seasons of pandemic, and God richly, abundantly provided. Now, it’s Growing Season. And with your support in this campaign, we can reach more people, and change more lives, and help God’s garden grow. The harvest is plentiful, with laborers like you!
