Dear Glen Mar,
You may have heard that the Church is the body of Christ and that we are, all of us, members of it. We are all given gifts for Christ to use through the church to build up the church and be a blessing to others. When we are using our gifts, we please the God who gave those gifts to us. This weekend, we’ll be having our Fall Kickoff Event with lots of things to share about fall service and ministry opportunities. I also wanted to send out a very quick survey to find out where you might be feeling called to help. We have all promised to support the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness…and we need YOU to help Glen Mar be the church God is calling us to be. Thank you for sharing in the survey – and one of the questions is “I have no idea where I fit in but I feel called to help.” If you aren’t sure, just check that box and we’ll be in touch to help figure out where your passions and the community’s needs intersect.
This Sunday, we’ll be adding an in-person 11 a.m. contemporary praise service – so come on out and bring a friend! And if you’d like to help with the praise band or tech team, email us.
Also, this Sunday, our next Hurley team will be departing, so we’ll pray for them…and thank you to all who donated non-perishable food to “fill the van” in this time of flood recovery for them.
We’ll also pray for our nation and for one another, and I’ll be preaching on what it means to say yes to Jesus’ command, “Follow me.” Join us in person or online!
See you in Church,
Pastor Mandy
P.S. A reminder – tonight from 6-8 pm, Jim Hobart’s family will receive visitors in our chapel, and tomorrow at 11 am we will have a Memorial Service for Jim in our Spirit Center. Masks will be required at all times.
