MINISTRY SPOTLIGHTS:
- Mission Trip Info Meeting – Sunday, February 2, 4:30pm. Learn all about our summer mission trips! June 22-28 to North Carolina for home repair projects for current 8th graders and older. July 21-25 serve in the Baltimore area in a variety of city ministries for current 6th graders and older.
- Alphabet Soup and Social Justice Group – Feeling discouraged or afraid over current events? You are not alone. Glen Mar’s Alphabet Soup offers a safe space for all people (and all means all), and the Social Justice Group works against systems of oppression. Stop by the table in the Gathering Place today for some encouragement and to learn about upcoming opportunities.

- BWC Summer Camp – Registration for United Methodist summer camps opens February 5. Sleep-away camps for current 2nd graders and older at West River and Manidokin include swimming, boating, climbing, music, games, and so much more. Learn more here.
- 30 Hour Famine – Friday, February 21 – Saturday, February 22. Glen Mar’s Confirmation Class is going without food for 30 hours to raise awareness and money for world hunger. Want to join them? Contact the Confirmation Lead Team.
- Save the Date for VBS 2025 – Plan to join us July 7-11 for a True North adventure, learning to trust God in a wild world. Registration begins March 1.
- Calling all tech crew! Have you ever helped with a school play? Are you available once per month to operate a video camera? Looking for an easy way to serve? Let Amy Barnes know! We need your help to monitor our video cameras during the 9:30 am service.
- How do I…find someone’s address so that I can send a card? How do I see how much I have contributed this year? It’s too cold to go outside. Can I see the bulletin from home? There’s an app for that! Realm is Glen Mar‘s multipurpose communication tool. Need help? Call or email the Pastors’ Assistant!
- Did you know? That the donuts each Sunday cost Glen Mar about $3,500 per year? If you enjoy them, please consider contributing funds toward our hospitality budget!

Habitat For Humanity – Saturday, February 8. Do you enjoy doing handy work? Or do you wish you knew how to do handy tasks around your home? The Glen Mar Habitat Crew welcomes you to join us, either way. You must be 16 or older to work on a Habitat site. We work the second Saturday of every month. Scout Sunday – Sunday, February 9, 9:30 am. Are you an expert of all things popcorn and cookies? Great at earning badges? Help celebrate our Scouts by serving as an usher or greeter! Contact Amy Barnes if you are interested in helping out! All current and former Scouts welcome!

Glen Mar’s Social Justice Group – Tuesday, February 11, 7:00 pm. This group will educate itself on the many social justice issues to be addressed in our community and discern how to effectively engage and take action. All are welcome to attend this group.

Dancing Needles – Thursday, February 13, 1:00 pm. Do you enjoy knitting and crocheting? We need you in our prayer shawl group. Prayer shawls are given to those in hospitals and those in need of special care as a reminder that others care and are praying for them. We also make baby blankets for our newborns, scarves for our armed forces, and now shawls for the Women’s Pregnancy Center.

Vow Renewal – Saturday, February 15, 11:00 am. BWARM, Baltimore-Washington Area Reconciling United Methodists, will hold a vow renewal and blessing for couples who want the church to bless their marriage, commitment or union at North Bethesda UMC. If you are interested in participating, contact the Rev. Deb Scott. The service will include an opportunity to remember those partners who have been lost to death. Email to learn more about BWARM.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper – Tuesday, March 4, 5:30 – 7:00 pm. Prepare for the start of Lent by eating pancakes with your Glen Mar family. The cost is a free-will offering per person, and all proceeds from the meal will be used to help with international missions that Glen Mar supports. Youth Group – All 6th – 12th graders should join us tonight in Youth Lounge from 5:30-7:00 pm as we continue to look at spiritual disciplines. Tonight is an interesting look at Meditation. More than napping it’s a cool vibe frfr. Bring $5 each for dinner.
