MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT:

The Soldiers’ Chorus of the U.S. Army Field Band will perform “America the Beautiful” on Friday, July 19 at 7:00 pm. in the Spirit Center. This concert is free. For more information, see the Summer Concert Series table in the Gathering Place today.

ACT NOW:

Volunteer greeters are needed for a free Community Health Fair on Saturday, August 3 from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at Glen Mar. It will include back-to-school student immunizations; hearing and vision screening; and blood pressure check and BMI assessment. If you have any questions or are interested, email the Health Fair team.

Sunday Praise Team – Our 11:00 Praise team needs instrumentalists – guitar, bass, keyboards. If interested, please email Max Mason.

Hosts Needed for Dinner & Movie Nights – Families are needed to host our summer high school youth weekly gathering, where they eat dinner together, then watch and discuss a recent movie. We will be meeting on Tuesday nights from 6:30 – 10pm. Hosts need to provide dinner for 12ish youth and have a TV space for the same size group. Youth will bring money to help pay for dinner. We only need hosts for July 23 and August 13. To volunteer or for a list of movies, please email D.C. Veale.

Volunteers Needed! The Kids & Youth Ministries are looking for adults willing to be part of a dynamic team of teachers for our Sunday morning classes during the school year. Whether you enjoy working with “Kids” – 1st-5th graders, 6th & 7th graders in our “Fuse” class, or senior high youth in our “Rooted” class, we have the place for you. Interested? Get more info today! Our Next Turn @ Rt. 1 DRC – July 27, 2024 – 11:45 am – 2:00 pm. One of 50 churches supporting the Grassroots Rt. 1 Day Resource Center (DRC), Glen Mar provides lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month. YOUTH INFO/EVENTS:

Youth Pool Party – Saturday, July 13, 4 – 6:30 PM – Watery fun for middle and high school youth at the home of Don and Pat Lee (7055 Calvert Dr. in Elkridge). Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served. Please bring a side dish (last name A-M) or dessert (last name N-Z) to share.

High School Dinner & a Movie – Tuesday, July 16, 6:30 – 10 PM – Rising 9th grade and older are invited to the home of Tom and Amy Barnes (5853 Blue Sky in Elkridge) for dinner and the movie “Jesus Revolution.” Bring $5 for dinner.

Flip Flop Game Night – Wednesday, July 17, 6:30 – 8 PM – Middle and high school youth are invited to a night of youth choice games. Meet on the baseball field (Youth Lounge if the weather is bad). Mark Your Calendars for More Youth Summer Fun!

Six Flags Trip – Friday, July 26, 9:30 AM – 10 PM – Register now for some amusement park fun. Cost is $45 per person. Register on Realm by July 21.

Youth Pool Party #2 – Saturday, August 10, 4 – 6:30 PM.

SAVE THE DATE – Middle School Retreat – October 11-13. The annual Middle School Retreat will be the weekend of October 11-13 at Camp Manidokan.

MUSIC CORNER:

Two More Summer Concerts on Tap – The 2024 Glen Mar Concert Series is pleased to report that 250 people witnessed the June 21 Ken & Brad Kolodner Quartet which was preceded by a Chef George Dohner dinner and followed by a jam. The series is also happy that 160 people attended the May 31 Monumental Brass Quintet concert. After this excellent start, the 2024 Series will continue with two more terrific, AND FREE one-hour performances in the Spirit Center. Mark your calendars!

“No Strings” Choir – Love to sing? Interested in trying out Choir but not ready to commit long term? Already in the choir and still wanna sing? Join our “No Strings” Choir. We will sing on July 28 and August 25 with rehearsals on the Thursdays before (July 25 & Aug 22) at 7:00 pm in the Music Suite downstairs. Questions? Contact Sophie Hong.
