MINISTRY SPOTLIGHTS:

  • Easter Eggstravaganza – Saturday, April 12, 10:00-11:30 am. Children and families can enjoy a fun morning of egg hunting, crafts, games, and more. Please register online or sign up in the Gathering Place so we know how many to expect. Want to help? Talk to Julie or use the online registration to sign up.
  • AMES UMC Food CollectionMarch 30-April 19. Glen Mar will be collecting Easter food items to support our partners at Ames United Methodist Church in Baltimore, and needy families in Howard County. Please pick up a bag with a list of needed food items from the table in the gathering place, and thank you for your continued efforts to feed local families in need.
  • Social Justice Library – Looking to learn more about social justice issues? Glen Mar’s Social Justice Group is unveiling their new Social Justice Library. The library includes both fiction and non-fiction books on an assortment of topics including race, immigration, and gender. Learn more in the Gathering Place today!

  • Resources for Federal Workers & Contractors – Mark your calendars for the Resume Refresh Event on Saturday, April 12 from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Youth Lounge. Not a federal worker, but would love some tips on how to polish up your resume? Join us! No registration needed! For more information, contact the Pastors’ Assistant!
  • The Messenger Deadline – Tuesday, April 15. Would you like to let the church know about an upcoming event? Is there something your small group would like to share with the rest of the church? Submit articles to me*******@********mc.org” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>The Messenger.
  • Wisdom for Changing Times – Tuesdays, April 22, 29, and May 6. In the face of racial and religious bias, come together for Courageous Conversations to Recall, Renew, and Reclaim the wisdom we hold in the Howard County community. Registration starts March 24.
  • Summer Mission Trips – June 22-28: North Carolina for home repair with Carolina Rebuilding Ministry. Open to all adults and youth currently in 8th grade or older, $300 or less. July 21-25: Baltimore Mission Week, a chance to serve in the Baltimore area while sleeping in your own bed. Open to all adults and youth currently in the 6th grade and older, $125 or less. Register now for the NC Mission Trip and/or the Baltimore Mission Week. The first training is March 29!
  • VBSRegister NOW to hold your spot for the True North Adventure, July 7-11! Don’t wait!
  • Easter Flowers – Help to beautify the sanctuary for Easter in honor/memory of a loved one. Please look for an envelope in the Cafe area and fill it out and hand to the Welcome Center Hostess. We will have a limited number of lilies and hydrangeas.
  • Are you a Small Group Leader? We want to know! In an effort to keep both Realm and the website current, we would like to update our Group List and the corresponding contact information current! Please call or email the Pastors’ Assistant with your Group’s name and points of contact!

UPCOMING EVENTS:

  • Family Matters – Saturday, April 5, 6:00 pm. Do you have kids in preschool through middle school? We are a small group that typically meets every 1st Saturday of the month. This is a great opportunity to make friends with other families with kids at Glen Mar! Bring the whole family, an entrée or side dish and join us in the Glen Mar Youth Lounge.
  • Federal Workers Career Fair – Tuesday, April 8, 6:00-8:00 pm at Howard Community College. For more information email Howard County Help.
  • Glen Mar’s Social Justice Group – Tuesday, April 8, 7:00 pm. This group educates itself on the many social justice issues to be addressed in our community and discern how to effectively engage and take action. All are welcome to attend this group!
  • Dancing Needles – Thursday, April 10, 1:00 pm. Do you enjoy knitting and crocheting? We need you in our prayer shawl group! Prayer shawls are given to those in hospitals and those in need of special care as a reminder that others care and are praying for them.
  • Habitat For Humanity – Saturday, April 12. Do you enjoy doing handy work? Or do you wish you knew how to do handy tasks around your home? The Glen Mar Habitat Crew welcomes you to join us, either way. You must be 16 or older to work on a Habitat site. We work the second Saturday of every month. Contact Adrienne Taylor to learn more or to sign up at ha*****@********mc.org.

  • Good Friday – Friday, April 18, 7:30 pm.
  • Easter Services – Sunday, April 20, 6:30 am, 9:30 am, 11:00 am.

YOUTH INFO/EVENTS:

  • Youth GroupTONIGHT! 5:30-7:00 pm in the Youth Lounge! why be cheugy when you can be big brain? Don’t miss the battle of the genz and an epic egg hunt! Bring $5 for dinner.
  • Graduating Seniors All graduating high school seniors (or their parents) are asked to please turn in a senior picture to D.C. for Graduating Senior Sunday. Please include the full name of the student and the high school from which they are graduating. Pictures must be turned in by May 4.
  • High School Retreat! – May 2-4. Don’t miss out a return to Bethany Beach to Dive Deep! We’ll dive into how to read the Bible, understand it, and apply it to our life. There will also be plenty of time for other beachy things like sand, the boardwalk, ice cream, and more! $140 per youth, register here.
