Jewels for Hope – Saturday, November 2 from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Come and bring your friends! We have lots of beautiful items that would make perfect gifts for the folks on your holiday list. We look forward to seeing you at this sale right here at Glen Mar!
Lunch with the Pastors – Sunday, November 3, 12:30 pm. Have you been attending a while, love it at Glen Mar, but haven’t become a member? Join us for a special New Member Class and lunch—on us! We would love to meet with you in person and discuss becoming a member. Please register so that we know how much food to purchase!

Blood Drive – Saturday, November 2, 9:00 am -2:00 pm at 11711 E Market Pl, Fulton, MD.
The Baltimore-Washington Conference is in Partnership with Project SPIRIT Sickle Cell, Inc. and the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at the Baltimore-Washington Conference Mission Center in Fulton. Learn more here!
All Saints Day – Sunday, November 3 at the 9:30 and 11:00 am services. Submit photos and names of saints (family, friends, neighbors/community members) in your life who have passed from labor to reward over this past year for our Sunday, Nov 3 celebration of All Saints Day. Please email photos and names to wo*****@********mc.org by end of the day Sunday, October 27.
Ames UMC Thanksgiving Food Collection – Sunday, October 27 through November 17, Glen Mar will be collecting Thanksgiving food items to support our partners at Ames United Methodist Church in Baltimore. Please pick up a bag with a list of needed food items from the table in the gathering place. Thank you for your continued support to our Ames brothers and sisters!
It’s almost the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! Honor a loved one this Christmas and help beautify our Spirit Center by ordering a poinsettia! Please place orders by December 15.
Operation Christmas Child is an organization that ships shoe boxes filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items to children around the world allowing us to share the love of Jesus with them. Shoe boxes will be distributed today, and donations and packed boxes can be dropped off Sunday, November 3 & 10. Questions? Email the Operation Christmas Child Team.
Wish Upon A Star – Glen Mar’s Wish Upon a Star (WUAS) Ministry is an annual Christmas program that provides clothing, toys, and food to families in need living in our area. The organizations we work with are: Howard County Public School System, Hope Works of Howard County, the UMC Board of Child Care (“Everstand”), Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, Ames UMC and Steps of Hope in Guatemala. Sign up to purchase a gift or gift card for one of the WUAS families beginning next week in the Gathering Place or on-line through the Glen Mar website.

Family Matters Potluck Dinner – Saturday, November 2 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. Do you have kids in preschool through middle school? We are a small group that typically meets every 1st Saturday of the month. Bring the whole family, an entrée or side dish and join us in the Glen Mar Youth Lounge.
Upcoming Sermon Series – Sunday, November 3 – November 24. Bless this Mess: Giving Thanks in a Messy World. Paul says Christians are to give thanks in all circumstances. Has Paul seen my bank statement and met my family? How can we practice gratitude in the midst of our real life? Come bring your real life to worship and part with a blessing.
Glen Mar Singles Social Network – Sunday, November 3 at 10:30 am. Are you looking for a social group of people who like to get together and do fun, interesting, meaningful stuff? Join us. We are a social group, not a dating group or a place to find a future spouse. We are a group of Christian singles—divorced, widowed, never married—who enjoy one another’s company. HOLA Toastmasters of Ellicott City – Next Meeting Tuesday, November 5 at 7:30pm. We meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm. YOUTH INFO/EVENTS:

Youth Group Sunday, October 27 – 5:30 – 7:30 pm. We’ll hear from representatives from HopeWorks, Howard County’s domestic violence center, and have a chance to help prepare for the Jewels for Hope Sale which Glen Mar does as a fundraiser for HopeWorks. Meet in Youth Lounge and bring $5 for dinner.
Monster Mini Golf – Sunday, November 10, 5:00 – 6:30 pm. Sign up NOW! $20 includes golf and pizza dinner. Register by Sunday, November 3 at Glen Mar Monster Mini Golf Registration.

Christmas Cantata – Mark your calendars! Love! A Gospel Christmas Celebration by Joel Raney will be performed on Sunday, December 22 at both the 9:30 and 11:00 am services. Contact Sophie Hong for more information.
