Recent Outreach ministries (like the Cold Weather Shelter, Day of Service, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Covid vaccinations and testing, and food distributions) are just some of the ways your giving enables Glen Mar to make a difference in lives and the community.

Did you know that you could continue to support such life changing ministries beyond your time on earth?  Legacy giving is a form of giving that enables us to fund ministries into the future.  There are many ways to make a legacy gift.  Perhaps the most common is including Glen Mar in your will. Joan and I, for example, have chosen to extend our tithe beyond our deaths by stipulating that 10% of our remaining assets would go to Glen Mar.

Others prefer to use a vehicle such as a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust that can continue to provide income for them during their lifetime but designates the remainder for Glen Mar ministries at their death.

Some choose to make Glen Mar the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, retirement, investment or bank account.  Consultation with your financial advisor can help you identify which type of legacy gift is best for your circumstances.

Glen Mar accepts legacy gifts into an endowment where they are invested and the interest made available for mission and ministry. As an example, if you gave $100,000 and it was invested to return 5% annually, you would be providing $5,000 every year to support Glen Mar ministry.

Whatever form of giving you choose it creates a living legacy.  Many of us reflect on what kind of legacy we provide for our children and grandchildren, especially the values we hope they have learned from our example.  What better way to  affirm those values, as well as our love for God and our family, than providing a legacy gift that extends the witness of our faith and love beyond our earthly life?
