The Social Justice Group of Glen Mar UMC is a group of Glen Martians who are passionate about social justice. We gather to plan and share ways to make a difference and involve others in the congregation.

We asked for donations ahead of the MLK Day of Service, in partnership with the North Capital UMC, to be used for the immigrants who arrive in Washington, DC from other states almost every day. Thanks to the generosity of Glen Mar and the Day of Service disciples from our community, we were able to put together over 300 personal hygiene kits and many bags of clothing and shoes for these immigrants.

The Social Justice Group is planning to help North Capital UMC with sorting donations at its site as well as another donation drive here at Glen Mar. Please watch for announcements and flyers for these events.

While this project will be ongoing as needs arise, the Social Justice Group is also looking at a new project that will be right here at Glen Mar Church. Be sure to watch for new information in the bulletin, newsletter and Realm.

If you are interested in joining the Social Justice Group we meet on the second Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. All are welcome!
