Each year, Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center sponsors a Cold Weather Shelter during the winter months to provide short-term shelter for those in need in Howard County. Faith congregations sign up to “host” each week of the shelter, which typically operates from late November through the beginning of April. Glen Mar has been a host congregation each year since the shelter opened in 2004.

Glen Mar’s Wish Upon a Star Ministry is an annual Christmas program that provides gifts and gift cards to families in need living in our area. The families are selected by organizations Glen Mar works with and are listed at the end of this blog. Families then identify “wish lists” of gifts that are provided to our Glen Mar team.…

Dancing Needles Group Cares for Others

Do you enjoy knitting and crocheting or would you like to learn? If so, we need you in our Dancing Needles group. This group makes prayer shawls that are given to people in hospitals and those in need of special care as a reminder that others care and are praying for them. The group is also making baby blankets for our newborns and scarves for our armed forces.
