I hate that baseball’s Opening Day was delayed, because I love baseball…but the delay has put Opening Day closer to Easter…and for some reason to me baseball, spring and Easter are connected. The turning of the seasons to spring—new life, flowers, and that bright green of grass in ballparks–fills me with joy and hope.

When I go for walks around my neighborhood, I am so thrilled to see the signs of spring on its way. Random clusters of daffodils, defiant throaty morning songbirds, the modest beginnings of the early bloomers—forsythia, Bradford pear.

On Sunday, 3/20 at 7 pm we will have a Prayer Service for Peace in Ukraine and in our world. I encourage you to come out for that and to bring friends and neighbors.
